>> Touching down in Germany for his first foreign trip as US Secretary of State, all eyes on Rex Tillerson as he attends the G20 summit. He's due to meet the Russian Foreign Minister for the first time on Thursday, among intense scrutiny over Washington Moscow relations. Donald Trump's National Security Advisor resigned earlier this week following revelations he discussed US sanctions on Russia with Kremlin officials before Trump took office.
Tillerson and Lavrov expected to discuss measures to counter Islamic State and the Minsk Peace Accords to end violence in Eastern Ukraine. Many wondering how much President Trump's America First message will reshape US foreign policy. But those hoping for some answers from Tillerson, might be left frustrated. Senior US officials say his two-day trip was mostly to listen to what G20 counterparts had to say.
Tillerson is the former Exxon mobile CEO, he has international business experience but none in government. A senior advisor to former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said his first appearance at a G20 Summit is crucial as he seeks to establish a relationship of trust.
