>> Investigators are still working to determine what caused last week's deadly train crash in Hoboken, New Jersey. Officials on Sunday saying the one data recorder is still foul recovered from the locomotive wasn't working during the trip and that the engineer has no memory of the incident.>> Prior to departure, he said he was successfully able to conduct the required brake tests.
00:00:23
In the interview, he stated that the train operated normally throughout the trip approaching the accident site. And he said that the cab alerter was operating properly. The engineer said he has no memory of the accident. He remembers waking up on the floor of the cab.>> The New Jersey transit commuter train crashed into the Hoboken station during the morning rush hour, last Thursday.

More than 100 people were injured, and a 34 year old woman who'd been standing on the platform was killed. Engineer Thomas Gallagher told authorities that, when he checked the speedometer, the train was entering the station at ten miles per hour. Though officials have not yet confirmed that speed.

Gallagher also said he felt well-rested that morning and that his cell phone was turned off and stored in a backpack, which is still in the cabin of the train's control car. Damage to the station has delayed recovery of that and other evidence, including a second data recorder which investigators hope will tell them what Gallagher did in the moments before the crash to try to slow or stop the train.

But they don't know yet when they'll be able to access that black box.>> So we're hopeful that that will have information that will be functioning.
