>> He disappeared here on the Greek island of Kos 25 years ago, now police say they're optimistic that they could finally find out what happened. Excavations beginning on Monday for missing British toddler Ben Needham, who was on a family holiday here in 1991. The renewed search comes after South Yorkshire police unearthed fresh information from locals in Kos.

Some say he may have been abducted, other theories suggest he could have been crushed by a digger on a nearby construction site. Last year his mother, sister and grandmother appeared on Greek television, asking the public for any clues or for Ben himself to come forward if he's still alive.

>> I'm very, very hopeful.>> If he is, he'd now be 27. Over the years, there have been other searches, possible sightings and DNA testing of a man in Cyprus all of which have been fruitless. Police say the dig is on old farmland. They're hoping to find something significant though and finally provide answers for Ben's family.
