>> So are we.>> They're ruthless. They're violent. And they all wear vintage flat caps. The Peaky Blinders are as British as they come but lately the gang has been getting some international attention. From the mean streets of Birmingham to the world, Britain's most charismatic gangsters are back for a third run.
But this time, the world of international intrigue will take them beyond enemy lines. My name is Dyork Gihidu, and I'm at the BFI Southbank in London, where Tommy and the gang are here to discuss the show and the state of the industry.
The postwar drama follows the Shelby Brothers' rise to power actors Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy and Annabel Wallace lead an impressive ensemble and even the series creator Steven Knight can't believe how far this show has reached.>> We're hearing great things. I mean Snoop Dogg is a fan. And he's telling me that that, people have followed him, people dressing up.
>> For Knight, this is a passion project that rings close to home.>> My mother when she was a little kid was a bookie's runner. Betting was illegal then and book makers used kids to take the bets. So my mom was one of those and my dad's uncles were the Peaky Blinders.
They were a gang who were known as the Peaky Blinders in the 20s and they were racketeers and book makers. The third season kicks off with Tommy's wedding day after his criminal doings made him a very rich man. But the world isn't a safe place in post world Birmingham, and not even the man playing Tommy is sure of his future.
I didn't know what was going to happen at the end at the end of series two. I thought I was dead for sure. I thought I was a goner. And then series three, I didn't know who I was going to marry, what was going to happen. So you're always a step behind the writer, and I think that's important.
>> The cast has confirmed more of Tom Hardy, as the Camden bushy bearded monster Solomon. And a surprise appearance from Paddy Considine as a violent priest. A quote, force behind anything Tommy has ever seen. So put on your caps and hide your blades because the Peaky Blinders will air in the UK on May 5th and the US by the end of the month.
