We are poor people who work hard to make ends meet. The murder has sent shock waves through out Pakistan. And shock has turned to anger at the role played by the Jirgas or tribal council which police said ordered the punishment. Ambreen's father wants revenge and has called for the culprits to be burned in the local square.

The laborer demanding the punishment as a gathering of a hundred village elders. Over 500 people are killed each year in Pakistan in so-called honor killings. Usually carried out by family members over claims they bought shame on the community. In Ambreen's modest mud and brick home, her Aunt Shehreen struggles to comprehend the murder.
