defiant Republican lawmakers in North Carolina not flinching at the department of justice sent a letter to governor Pat McCrory ordering him to change the state's new bathroom law by next week , it violates the U. S. Civil Rights Act this one interpretation by one agency , where correspondent Colleen Jenkins did in North Carolina proper public and lawmakers here in the states have not said whether they'll fight back against the justice department man , the new state law requires transgender people to use the bathroom that corresponds with the sex on their birth certificate rather than their gender identity got department accused of North Carolina and discriminating against transgender people in violation of federal civil rights law the government department game state leaders and deadline of next Monday to show how they would remedy the violation , but the department's stop short of saying whether it would go to federal court to enforce the Inca comply if it does go to court and a judge sides with the DOJ and North Carolina will have to comply or face a restriction of federal funds we thank the Obama administration's playing politics nd or Carolina house speaker thing on Thursday that obviously they don't want to lose any money , but they're not going to be quote bullied to take action by the Monday deadline
