>> Preparations are underway in Florida, as subtropical storm Alberto barrels towards the US Gulf Coast.
e slow moving system is expected to pack heavy rains and winds over the Memorial Day weekend. Florida, Alabama and Mississippi have declared states of emergency ahead of this storm that is threatening to dump up to 12 inches of rain.
Florida governor Rick Scott issued an emergency notice for all of the state 67 counties warning of possible flooding and storm surge.>> Looks like we are going to get significant amount of rain, we have a chance for some severe flooding. We're walking into hurricane season, everybody needs to get prepared.
>> Alberto was expected to intensify and bring wind speeds of up to 65 miles per hour as it approaches the Gulf Coast on Monday. The tropical storm conditions are already being felt as residence brace for the first named Atlantic storm of the 2018 hurricane season.>> You're all set, thank you.
