>> You have to give that some thought.>> He's famous for his unequivocal voice, and now Morgan Freeman is speaking out after allegations he harassed women and created a toxic work environment>> Freeman issued a statement Friday, writing, quote, I am devastated that 80 years of my life is at risk of being undermined, in the blink of an eye, by Thursday's media reports.
But I also want to be clear, I did not create unsafe work environments. I did not assault women. I did not offer employment or advancement in exchange for sex. Any suggestion that I did so is completely false. CNN reported Thursday that eight people told the network they were victims of what some labeled harassment and others called inappropriate behavior by Freeman.
They said eight others told the network they witnessed the actor's alleged misconduct. The CNN report made no mention of claims of employment in exchange for sex. It did detail complaints of unwanted touching and sexual comments. Reuters was unable to independently confirm any of the allegations. Freeman sad he would often try to joke with and compliment women, in what he thought was a light-hearted way, and apologized if he unintentionally upset anyone.
CNN also said other sources described Freeman as professional on set and in the office. Freeman is the latest in a series of high-powered men accused of sexual misconduct since the Me Too movement began last October.>> Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, the subject of scores of allegations, turned himself in on Friday and now faces two counts of rape and one count of criminal sexual act.
