>> Is six years imprisonment.>> Shockingly, too lenient. The verdict of South Africa's Prosecuting Authority on Oscar Pistorius' six year murder sentence. According to reports, the state will now appeal the verdict. Prosecutors say the Paralympic Gold Medalist should spend longer in jail for murdering girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013.

Pistorius led off to jail immediately after the verdict in early July, but the state and large sections of the South African public were left disappointed by the outcome. They've been calling on the athlete to receive no less than the prescribed minimum 15 year sentence for murder, saying Pistorius had shown no remorse over the killing.

The 29-year-old argued that he fired four shots into the door of a toilet cubicle at his home in a mistaken belief that an intruder was hiding behind it.
