>> Qamishli in northern Syria, the target of an Islamic State truck bomb on Wednesday morning. The second blast caught on camera, State TV said this was a motorcycle bomb. Video on social media, showing the scale of the damage leaving survivors dazed. More than 30 people dead, and an estimated 170 injured, according to local media.

Islamic State's own statement, claiming more than 100 dead and dozens injured, saying the target was Kurdish security forces. Qamishli, near the Turkish border, has been hit before. Kurdish militia are based here, hoping the western alliance dislodges Islamic State from strongholds in Syria. The town's population, now paying the price.
