>> The Supreme Court Wednesday blocking what had been a victory for the transgender community. The Court siding for now with a school board in Virginia that's fighting the Obama Administration's order that transgender students be allowed to choose which public bathrooms they use. Reuters correspondent David Ingram.>> This is a very brief order from the court, two, three paragraphs long, where they just said that while this case proceeds on appeal, we are going to let the status quo stand.
>> The ACLU is suing on behalf of Gavin Grimm, a 17 year old who was born a girl but wants access to the boys' room at his high school. A lower court ruled in April that transgender students are protected under federal laws barring sex-based discrimination. The Supreme Court, which is down one Justice after the death of Antonin Scalia, voted 5-3 put that ruling on hold until it decides whether to hear the case.
