>> He spoke at the Republican National Convention, and was an early supporter of Donald Trump. Anyway Arpaio could soon face criminal charges. A US federal judge is recommended prosecutors charge the Maricopa county sheriff with criminal content. The recommendation stands from a 2007 class action civil law suit. Accusing the sheriff and his deputies of unconstitutionally stopping, detaining, and questioning motorists based on the suspicion they were in the US illegally.

The Feds got involved, and in 2013 a federal judge ruled sheriff's deputies had racially profiled Latino drivers, he ordered the sheriff to stop. But on Friday the judge said the sheriff violated that order. A spokesman for the US Attorney's Office in Phoenix says the referral for charges is under review.
