>> A summer night by the sea in Thailand quickly turning to horror Thursday night. Twin bomb blasts ripping through the upscale resort town Hua Hin, killing one and injuring at least a dozen, including foreigners. Police say the two explosives were hidden in plant pots lining a busy bar street and were detonated by mobile phone, going off within about 20 minutes of each other.
The attack happened ahead of a public holiday Friday marking the queen's birthday, meaning the resort town was more crowded than usual. Local media report this type of double tap bomb attack is a tactic used by insurgents in the south. The first explosion meant to cause chaos, and the second meant to inflict damage on law enforcement drawn to the scene.
Police say they're still investigating and don't know the motive or the identity of the bombers.
