>> Los Angeles International Airport struggling to get back to normal, Monday, after a false alarm of a gunman opening fire set off a panic late Sunday. Reports of the shooting sent people running for their lives, hundreds spilling onto the tarmac and streets outside. Terminals were briefly evacuated, causing major security headaches and flight delays.

Police later determined there had in fact been no threat. Still, for those in the melee, the anxiety was very real.>> It was chaotic, we were coming in from Dallas and we got off the plane and were exiting and saw just a mob, a crowd running towards us.

>> I was in the bathroom and all of a sudden there was a flood of people that came running into the bathroom saying, there was a shooter. I mean, everyone is in a huge panic.>> Police say the panic originated from quote, loud noises and are investigating the source of the sound.

It's the second recent false alarm at a major US airport. Two months ago, police temporarily evacuated a terminal at JFK Airport while they investigated reports of gunfire there, also later determined to be false.
