>> A pickup truck plowed into a crowd of spectators in New Orleans on Saturday, leaving a trail of devastation. Police saying 28 people were injured, local media reporting 12 of them critically. The driver appeared to be highly intoxicated and was arrested. Spectators had gathered to watch the main Mardi Gras parade in the city.
The truck struck three other vehicles, including a dump truck, before veering into the crowds of people. Eyewitnesses interviewed by the media said the driver appeared disheveled, glassy-eyed and under the influence of drugs or alcohol. In a statement, the city's mayor referred to the suspect as a drunk driver.
He's being questioned by police.
