COMING UP:Share Opener Variant 3

>> This is not a joke, Moonlight has won best picture.>> That best picture Oscars screw up? Blame the hands of PriceWaterhouseCoopers accountant Brian Cullinan, or more precisely his thumbs. The Wall Street Journal reporting Cullinan tweeted a photo of best actress winner Emma Stone backstage. Just three minutes before making the gaff seen round the globe.
Mistakenly handing the backup envelope for best actress to best picture presenters, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. And causing them to say La La Land rather than the actual winner Moonlight. PWC saying that once the error occurred. Protocols for correcting it were not followed quickly enough by Cullinan or his partner Martha Ruiz.
But failing to add whether either would face a penalty for the blunder. Cullinan had deleted his tweet by Monday but the journal captured it on Google servers. The two PWC reps were backstage on either side during the show. Alternately handing out envelopes with winners' names to various presenters.
Tweeting was not part of their job. The Journal reporting Cullinan had sought permission to post to social media during the broadcast. But was turned down by the Academy because his sole duty was to accurately distribute envelopes. Something he won't be winning awards for any time soon.
