>> Tesla promising it's come up with a fix to Autopilot its semi autonomous driving system. CEO Elon Musk sharing details Sunday on a call with journalists about a major update that includes new limits to hands off driving, a fail safe he says probably would have prevented an Autopilot fatality that's haunted Tesla since May.

The upgrade temporarily blocks drivers from using Autopilot if they fail to respond to warnings commanding them to take back control. It also relies more on radar to give Teslas a better sense of what's around them and when to brake. Since its launch a little less than a year ago, critics have warned that Autopilot lulled users into a false sense of security, saying Tesla rolled it out before the technology was ready.

US highway safety regulators are reviewing the changes to Autopilot, which could hit the road within the next two weeks. On Sunday's call, Musk sounded weary, at one point saying that between the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket explosion and flack for Tesla's merger with SolarCity, all projects started by him, it's been, quote, one of the worst weeks ever, really.
