>> At least four people were seriously injured in knife attacks in Austria Wednesday. The two stabbings took place in the same district of the capital Vienna. However, police say any motive or connection between the assaults is, as yet, unclear. The first took place at 7:45 in the evening in the second district, which houses the famous Prater Park, as well as much of the city's small Jewish community.
> According to witnesses, a man attacked three persons in front of the business we see in the background. The victims are a father, mother, and an adult daughter. All three were seriously injured and are in a life threatening condition.>> Police say half an hour later, there was another attack that put a fourth person in critical condition.
A male Afghan national was later arrested in connection with the second assault. Vienna has not experienced deadly attacks by Islamic militants like those that have struck Paris, Berlin, and Brussels since 2015.
