>> By late Monday, firefighters had managed to contain 40% of the massive Erskine fire, which has devoured more than 45,000 acres. The blaze which erupted on Thursday engulfing over 250 structures, killing two people and forcing hundreds to evacuate. The Erskine fire is the biggest and most destructive of nine large wildfires burning up and down the drought parched state.
