>> Twenty one months in prison for footballer, Lionel Messi. A Spanish court sentencing the Barcelona superstar on Wednesday, finding him guilty of three counts of tax fraud. His father Jorge Messi, was given the same jail time for the same crimes. Reports in Spanish newspaper, La Vanguardia say, Messi insists he had no idea of what he was signing, or anything at all about contracts, claiming his father handled everything for him.

They have been found guilty of defrauding Spain of more than 4 million euros between 2007 and 2009. They also have to pay hefty fines for using tax havens in Belize and Uruguay, used to conceal earnings from image rights. But it's unlikely any of them will serve jail time, under Spanish law, a prison sentence under two years can be fully served on probation.
