The Democrats, who take control of the House of Representatives on Thursday, are touting their own plan to reopen the government. Pelosi, who attended a border security briefing at the White House on Wednesday Says the plan includes $1.3 billion for border fencing and $300 million for other security items.

But, does not get Trump what he wants for the wall.>> We're asking the President to open. Government. We are giving him a Republican path to do that. Why would he not do that?>> The prospect of that package getting through the Republican led Senate remains uncertain. McConnell has said Senate Republicans will not approve any spending measure that Trump does not support.

This as the shutdown expanded on Wednesday to include major Washington attractions like the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum and the National Zoo.>> I flew down here to se nothing.
