>> The artist, Banksy has a released a behind the scenes video, explaining that his recent auction stunt didn't quite go to plan. His famous work, "Girl with Balloon" self destructed after being sold at London Sotheby's. But only halfway. The artist admitted in an online video called Shredding the Girl and the Balloon, The Director's Cut, that in rehearsals, it had worked every time.
lookers were left in a state of disbelief as the semi-tattered artwork was swiftly removed. But the buyer, who had only just spent $1.38 million on it may have the last laugh. After the stunt, the artwork was officially renamed Love is in the Bin. Industry experts believe the prank has significantly increased its value.
The art world waits with bated breath to see if Banksy has anymore tricks up his sleeve. Two more of his well known prints are going under the hammer on Thursday, this time in Paris.
