>> The search is over for a man suspected of murdering a prominent Houston doctor who once treated former US President George HW Bush. Police say Joseph Pappas shot himself in the head as two officers approached him in a neighborhood near his Houston home Friday morning. Pappas was wanted for killing cardiologist Mark Hausknecht two weeks ago as he rode his bicycle to work at the city's sprawling medical center.
Police say Pappas held a long-standing grudge against the doctor after his mother died on Hausknecht's operating table 20 years ago.>> At the suspect's residence they found a very extensive intelligence file that this suspect had put together on Dr. Hausknecht. He knew everything that you could possibly find on this man.
>> Police say Pappas, who was a trained marksman and worked as a Texas constable for 30 years, was wearing body armor under his shirt when officers approached him. Authorities say he refused to comply with orders and shot himself in the head.
