Mark Harris, a former pastor, says he won but officials are saying, not so fast. Not until there's been an investigation.>> Whoever's responsible, we need to eliminate that and then if they need to go to jail, they need to go to jail.>> It's alleged that mail-in ballots from two rural counties, Bladen county and Robinson county were compromised on election day.
Harris leads his democratic opponent, Dan McCreedy by 905 votes. Harris won 61% of the absentee votes in Bladan county, even though registered Republicans cast only 19% of the absentee ballots there. Harris employed this man, Leslie McCrae Dalbus, a political operative for Bladen county with a felony record for fraud.
It's alleged he oversaw the collection of hundreds of absentee ballots from voters and turned them in himself, voters like Emily Shipman.>> A woman come into my house saying she was helping people vote and that's exactly what she acted like she was. And when they got through it, she took it and went on.
>> Some residents of rural Bladen County provided sworn affidavits, saying much the same thing, that people came to their homes and collected absentee ballots that they had not filled in. In a video posted on Twitter Thursday, Harris's opponent McCready said he withdrew his concession to Harris.>> I didn't serve overseas in the Marine Corps just to come back home and watch politicians and career criminals attack our democracy.
>> On Friday, Harris posted a video on Twitter, saying he was unaware of any wrongdoing and he would, quote, wholeheartedly, support a new election if illegal activity was found to such a level that could have changed the outcome. And while the final result won't affect the overall balance of power, it's causing a stir in Washington.
>> The House still retains the right to decide who is seated. This is about undermining the integrity of our elections.>> The state elections board has said it would hold a hearing by December 21st
