I've been here twenty years I've been through a closure in Scarborough I've been to a closure in London I moved my family twice for this company and they do this to me it's terrible that was the reaction back in November when General Motors announced plans to close five plants throughout North America resulting in fifteen thousand job cuts but there's some relief Wednesday on factory floors one word G. M. as in separate discussions to keep a General Motors manufacturing plant in Canada and another in Lordstown Ohio from shutting down Ohio governor Mike DeWine praised the talks but was also cautious if things are not in place for this to happen %HESITATION in all this would be very cruel for the workers and for the people %HESITATION , in large down no such caution from president trump who is happy to announce on Twitter the large town plant will be sold to an obscure company called workhorse group to build electric trucks calling it quote great news for Ohio GM did not go that far saying the deal is still in the discussion phase and the United auto workers has to sign on trump had blasted GM and CEO Mary bar for the plan to lay off reminding GM of the government bailout that saved the company when it went bankrupt during the financial crisis as part of Wednesday's announcement GM says it will spend seven hundred million dollars to create jobs and three other Ohio facilities north of the border GM and the largest union representing Canadian auto workers say they reached an agreement that would partly rescue and Ontario factory that location we'll go from an auto making plant to eight parts making facility saving three hundred jobs
