COMING UP:Share Opener Variant 3

>> The testimony you're about to give-,>> FBI Director, James Comey, on Wednesday, telling a Senate panel he agonized over his decision, just days before the US election. To reveal his agency was again looking into Democratic candidate, Hilary Clinton's possible mishandling of classified information.>> One of my junior lawyers said, should you consider that what you're about to do may help elect Donald Trump president?
And I said thank you for raising that, not for a moment, because down that path lies the death of the FBI as an independent institution in America.>> Reuters justice correspondent, Julia Edwards Aisnley.>> Comey said he was faced with two options in October of 2016, when he found out that his investigators needed to relaunch their probe into Clinton's emails.
He said that doing nothing and not telling the public, would have also been an action that could have had an undue influence on the US election, if voters didn't have that information when they were going to the poll. But he said that it makes him mildly nauseous, those were words that he used to describe the idea that he could have had an influence on a presidential election.
>> The FBI Chief defending his decision, a day after Clinton publicly blamed Comey, along with Russian hackers and Wikileaks, for her election loss. Senators also pressing Comey on the other major topic, Russia's interference in the presidential race, and the threat it poses to US democracy. A subject that US President Donald Trump still appears to question.
>> I'll go along with Russia, could have been China, could have been a lot of different groups.>> Comey seeming far more certain.>> If the intelligence community with high confidence concluded it was Russia, in many circumstances it's hard to do attribution of a hack, but sometimes the intelligence is there.
>> And going further.>> So, what kind of threat do you believe Russia presents to our democratic process, given what you know about Russia's behavior of late?>> Well, certainly, in my view, the greatest threat of any nation on Earth, given their intention and the capability.>> Comey also saying the FBI had found no evidence to back up another claim by President Trump, that President Barack Obama had ordered surveillance of Trump Tower.
