Violated it's obligations, under the Chemical Weapons convention, and ignored the urging of the UN security council.>> The US strike comes one day after Trump pointed the finger at Syrian president Bashar Al Assad for the chemical attack, which the Syria government denies launching.
US military actions sets Donald Trump at odds with Russia. Moscow has air and ground forces deployed in Syria after intervening on behalf of Assad two years ago to push back Sunni Muslim rebels. Until now Trump's almost exclusively focused his Syria policy on beating Islamic state militants in the country's north, where American special forces have supported Arab and Scottish armed groups.
It also marks a step President Barack Obama never took. In 2013, he considered then rejected a cruise missile strike also in response to user chemical weapons by a sad lawyer lists.
