>> Jared Kushner, son-in-law and senior advisor to President Trump, used a private email account to communicate with other administration officials about White House business. That's according to our report from Politico, which says that the revelation is only part of a larger pattern of Trump administration aides using personal email accounts for official government matters.
The report citing four sources says Kushner used his private email alongside his official White House account, sometimes trading emails with senior White House officials including former Chief of Staff, Reince Priebus, former Chief Strategist, Steve Bannon and top Economic Advisor, Gary Cohn. Politico reporting that Kushner set up the private email account last December as he was preparing to enter the White House.
During the presidential campaign his father-in-law often attacked Hillary Clinton for her use of a personal email account to handle government business when she was Secretary of State.>> I will say this. Hillary Clinton has to go to jail.>> Clinton was the target of an FBI investigation into whether she mishandled the classified information by using her non-government email address.
There is no indication that Kushner has shared any sensitive or classified material on his private account.>> I did not collude with Russia.>> Kushner has been under scrutiny in the ongoing Russia investigation and his private emails could be of interest to FBI and congressional investigators.
