>> The suspect in what is the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history identified as 29-year-old Omar S Mateen, an American citizen from Port St. Lucie, Florida. Mateen was fatally shot by police after opening gunfire in a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida early Sunday morning resulting in the deaths of at least 50 people and 53 others injured.

Police searching the suspect's car Sunday and gathering outside his father's home.>> He himself is an American citizen, that's not true of other family members of his. The police, very likely, are checking with his neighbors, going through his belongings trying to find if he left any personal statements that would indicate his motive, possibly the involvement of others, although there is no evidence of that at all right now.

>> A senior FBI official saying Mateen might have had leanings towards Islamic State Militantancy, calling the attack an act of terrorism, but cautioning that the suspected Islamic connection needs further investigation.>> Right now, we don't have any direct information that he was associated with any particular group. But it does seem that it's no coincidence that the attack took place where it did, because it's a gay club.

And it might be that we've seen a commission of an awful hateful crime.>> Representative Grayson adding that the killing done by Mateen came very quickly from a single weapon, an assault rifle. He also had a handgun and a unidentified device on his body. Florida Governor Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency in Orange County.
