>> Islamic State claiming responsibility for a brutal murder in a Paris suburb. A 42-year-old police officer stabbed to death in front of his home, Monday night. Media report the attacker then took the officer's wife and three year old son hostage, and barricaded himself inside their home. A government spokesman says, an elite police unit was then called in.

>> The police special forces arrived on site and began negotiations with the attacker. They also put a plan together to storm the house if negotiations were unsuccessful. Ultimately, they made a decision to raid the house. That was the gunshots and explosions that you heard.>> When police stormed the house, they found the woman already dead.

The little boy was rescued from the scene. Authorities say he was shocked, but not hurt. France is still shaken from last November's Islamist attacks in Paris, which left 130 people dead.
