>> Gawker filing for bankruptcy Friday months after losing a $140 million lawsuit brought my former pro wrestler Hulk Hogan. It's a fate that's been looming and Gawker has been exploring a sale. In March a Florida jury ruled in favor of Hogan who'd sued Gawker for posting a sex tape of him without his permission.
The case has been one that's pitted billionaires fighting for privacy against those looking to protect freedom of speech. In Hulk Hogan's corner funding the lawsuit has been PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel who was outed by Gawker as being gay. Meanwhile, eBay co-founder Pierre Omidyar and his First Look Media has been vocal about supporting Gawker.
