>> The boldest militant assault in months of violence in Kashmir. Seven Indian soldiers left dead after militants stormed an army base near the city of Jammu on Tuesday. Spraying bullets and hurling grenades, taking men, women, and children hostage for hours. The siege ending in a fierce gunfight and rescue.
>> At the first light in the morning, the BSF troops made their move and we decided in a stable fire, neutralize, the three militants quickly.>> That wasn't the only border flashpoint on Tuesday. Another three militants were gunned down later in the day, trying to cross the border into India from Pakistan New Delhi has long accused its neighbor of backing cross border attacks.
This latest bloodshed coming on the same day that the new Pakistani army chief took charge. His predecessor issuing a stern warning to New Delhi at the handover.
> I want to make it clear to India, that taking our policy of patience in Kashmir as a sign of any kind of weakness will prove to be dangerous.
>> There's been almost daily shelling across the militarized borders separating the two nuclear neighbors. Dozens of soldiers and civilians have been killed in recent months, both sides often blaming each other for firing first.
