The alien hordes that first descended on Japan in 1978, before spreading to the rest of the globe through arcades, our homes and, eventually, even our phones. The developer of the iconic video game Tito is marking the anniversary in Tokyo with this special exhibition.

The original inventor Tomohiro Nishikado, has even made an appearance. And he displayed some of his first concept drawings from back when it was still being designed.>> It's been a long time, and I'm really happy that the game is been played for such a long time. Looking back how I came up with the ideas and characters.

I'm truly impressed that I did it all by myself.>> Space Invaders in credited by some, including Guinness World Records, with being the most influential game ever created. That for it's cultural and technical impact. Whether Earth will eventually triumph over the aliens. Is yet to be seen.
