>> Celebrations on board this Ethiopian Airlines plane as it made history on Wednesday by becoming the first commercial flight from Ethiopia to Eritrea in 20 years. The flight cements peace efforts between the once warring nations a week after they ended their military standoff. Families separated from loved ones since the start of a brutal border war sat next to dignitaries as they prepared to land in the Eritrean capital of Asmara.
>> It has been like 22 years and because of the fight between Ethiopia and Eritrea, we had no even address to communicate with our family. But since Ethiopia and Eritrea create peace, we have come here, I have come here to look for my grand family. And I have a business in Addis, so I'm planning to open sister company in Asmara as well.
>> Two flights took off from Ethiopia on Wednesday morning and were greeted in Eritrea by dancers waving flags and flowers. The two 90 minute flights with icing on the cake with a peace push by new Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed. His three months in office have turned politics in this country and the wider East African region on its head.
