Twitter users erupting in protest, sharing images of them trashing New Balance sneakers, even lighting them on fire. Now the Boston Bay shoe company is in damage control.

New Balance boasts made in the USA sneakers, and views the far-reaching trade agreement as bad for business, something with which president-elect Trump agrees. Still, just because a company goes political doesn't mean sales will slump. Just as Chick-fil-A, the fast food chain saw sales soar 12% in 2012 after its CEO publicly opposed same sex marriage.
