COMING UP:Share Opener Variant 1

>> Police say the man who used a pickup truck to kill eight people, after he plowed through pedestrians and cyclists on a New York City bike path, appears to have acted alone. Authorities say Tuesday's attack bore the hallmarks of terrorism.>> This was an act of terror. And a particularly cowardly act of terror.
>> A source close to the investigation told Reuters the suspect is 29-year-old Sayfullo Saipov. A law enforcement official said Saipov is an immigrant born in Uzbekistan. NBC reported Saipov came to the US in 2010. Police visited a home in Patterson, New Jersey where the suspect may have lived.
This mug shot is from an arrest in Missouri in 2016 after Saipov failed to pay a traffic ticket. He was released on $200 bond, and never showed up for his court appearance. CNN and the New York Times reported investigators found a note saying the suspect carried out the attack in the name of the Islamic State Jihadist Group.
In response to the attack, President Donald Trump tweeted, I have just ordered Homeland Security to step up our already Extreme Vetting Program. Being politically correct is fine, but not for this! It is not clear precisely what the order meant. Police say Saipov rented this truck from a Home Depot in New Jersey.
His truck stopped after he collided with a school bus. He was shot in the abdomen by New York City police officers, and taken into custody. Among the dead, five Argentine friends visiting New York. A Belgian citizen was also among those killed. Ride-hailing company Uber confirmed that Saipov was a registered driver.
And in response to the incident, they'd cancelled his account.
The killings took place just hours before the city's Halloween parade, which went ahead with stepped up security.>> New Yorkers do not give in in the face of these kinds of actions.>> The attack, a short distance from the site of the former World Trade Center, is the deadliest terror strike in New York since September 11th, 2001.
