He was not known to police or intelligence services. Arrested on the border with Poland, alongside an arsenal of weapons and explosives, rocket launchers, and Kalashnikov assault rifles found in his vehicle.

But during the process of communications, he started indicating his interest in purchasing weapons, explosives, and other means of destruction.>> Authorities say the man had made contact with armed groups in Ukraine, and his intended targets included Jewish and Muslim places of worship, buildings linked with the tournament, and French administrative buildings.

But French police aren't convinced according to an anonymous source. When a man's house was searched in the Mers region of France, Police found nothing incriminating. The arrest comes as security officials across Europe are on high alert. Following Islamist militant attacks in Paris and Brussels recently and the start of the UA 2016 Tournament on Friday.
