>> It's a local derby revenge match turned major European final. Real and Atletico Madrid clashing on Saturday for the Champions League Cup. On one side you have goal scoring, money pouring Real with an all-star team and just the right attitude. On the other side, the revenge thirsty underdog, Atletico, determined to taste glory.
Reuters Adam Reed is previewing the match.>> The odds are at the moment that Real Madrid start a slight favorite which is understandable because of the firepower they've got in their side. They've got Ronaldo, they've got Bale, they've got Hamish Rodriguez and they've got many attacking options going forward.
But Atletico, they start as underdogs but is that tag warranted and maybe not because Gareth Bale, for example, looking at the other side, the Real Madrid side, he actually has gone on record this week saying that none of the Atletico Madrid players would even get into the Real Madrid side.
So maybe he's doing Diego Simeone's team talk for him by saying that and they might think they've got a point to prove. I mean, particularly it could come down to the goalkeepers and Oblak in goal for Atletico Madrid has proved himself to be one of the key members of their success this season.
Diego Simeone's side built on a very good defense, very stubborn, very hard to break down and beat, and that comes out of a good defense. So maybe it's not as clear cut that Real Madrid should start as favorites and don't forget they're still the repeat of that 2014 final.
Atletico Madrid, they came very close last time and they're gonna want to put that right this time around.>> One question remains unanswered ahead of Saturday's kick off, Real's leading goal scorer Ronaldo has given the club over 50 goals this season. But has been out of shape since suffering a hamstring injury in April.
That's one problem Diego Simeone does not have on his side. He'll have to focus on Torez's redemption and the group's cohesion if he wants the streets of Madrid painted red.
