Today we're announcing a bipartisan resolution to establish a special committee in the Senate to investigate US Olympic Committee and USA Gymnastics to deliver answers and accountability. There is ample evidence that many were alerted multiple times to Nassar's behavior and they found excuses to look the other way. This special committee would compel the US Olympics Committee and USA Gymnastics to give testimony in a public forum.

Our resolution also requires that at least of half the members of this special committee are women. Two days from now our Olympic athletes will compete in the opening ceremonies in PyeongChang. Our country will unite and we will cheer them on because they make us so proud. But sometimes our athletes need more than our cheers and this is one of those times.
