>> The Russian lawyer, who met with Donald Trump Jr. ahead of the US election, telling Russian media she's ready to testify at a congress about the encounter. President Trump's eldest son eagerly agreed to meet with Natalia Veselnitskaya. A woman he was told was a lawyer for the Russian government who might have damaging information about Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton.
Veselnitskaya said she's a private lawyer, claiming she not only never obtained damaging information about Clinton, but also has no ties with the Kremlin. During an interview with Kremlin-backed RTTV Tuesday night, she said I'm ready to clarify the situation behind the mass hysteria, but only through lawyers or testifying in the Senate.
The increased scrutiny of the Trump White House and claims of possible collusion with Russia are being investigated by special Counsel Robert Mueller. Veselnitskaya's offer to testify comes on the heels of news that an eighth person, who attended the June 2016 meeting, has been identified as Ike Cavalotta. He's cooperating with Mueller's investigation, according to his lawyer.
