>> This is what Wednesday morning's commute looked like for some unfortunate New England residents. An unexpected bout of icy weather causing scores of accidents, 55 vehicles colliding in a series of crashes around Boston. Multiple injuries reported. Only one fatality from a separate incident in nearby Needham. It was the start of a forecast whipsaw, with temperatures rising to 50 degrees late Wednesday, set to plunge back below freezing overnight when a snowstorm's expected to begin
Meanwhile, massive cleanup continues in New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana after six tornadoes tore through the state. Among the hardest hit, New Orleans' Ninth Ward, the same area ravaged by Hurricane Katrina just over a decade ago. At least 31 people injured as tornadoes leveled homes, trees, and power lines Tuesday.
