>> Tech giant Amazon will create more than 5,000 jobs in the United Kingdom this year. Clearly undeterred by Britain's future departure from the European Union. The world's largest online retailer announcing the news on Monday, saying it is committed to its investment in the country. A spike in jobs will increase Amazon's workforce in the UK to 24,000 permanent employees.
The plans to add over 5,000 jobs in 2017 is a record for the company in Britain, all in a bid to provide faster delivery, more selection of products, and better value, according to senior staff. Amazon's new London head offices will have space for the new recruits by the end of the year.
Outside the United States, the UK market is Amazon's second biggest behind Germany.
