>> Islamic State militants executing dozens of prisoners as the Iraqi army advances on the city of Mosul. Officials there saying Wednesday the prisoners were taken with their families from villages ISIS has been forced to abandon. Many are former members of the Iraqi police and army who've been living under ISIS control.
One local provincial council member telling Reuters the militants are using the executions, in part, to terrorize others, especially those in Mosul. Officials say the militants are still holding the families of the victims.
