>> As I speak.>> Former US president George H W Bush whisked to the hospital in Houston. His chief of staff telling local TV on Wednesday he's in stable condition and is expected to be discharged in a few days' time. No immediate reason was given as to why he needs medical attention.

Bush, Senior has used a wheelchair in recent years and was brought to the hospital twice in 2014 for pneumonia and breathing difficulties. He also fell and broke a bone in his neck the year after. The former President's made few public appearances since he entered his nineties, once in late 2015 in a wheelchair and neck brace to toss the first pitch at a Houston Astros game, and last month at his Presidential Library, to honor ex-Senator Bob Dole.
