>> This year's Super Bowl to pit the perennial powerhouse Patriots against the surprisingly tough Falcons. With Tom Brady going for a record fifth championship against an Atlanta franchise that has never won the title. Sunday's conference finals seeing both teams destroy their competition, New England rolling over Pittsburgh 36-17 and the Falcons crushing the Packers 44-21.
The NFL had all but written off Atlanta who've only made one Super Bowl appearance in their 51 year history. Until the resurgence of veteran quarterback Matt Ryan, a league favorite for MVP, steadied the ship. Shredding the previously red-hot Packers by passing for nearly 400 yards. Patriots to make their seventh Super Bowl appearance in the Tom Brady Bill Belichick era, a win would be further redemption after the Deflategate scandal that benched Brady for the first four games of the season.
The two premiere quarterbacks will meet for the Super Bowl at Houston's NRG Stadium February 5th.
