>> At least six more survivors found under the avalanche that hit this mountainside hotel in Central Italy, now over a day since the disaster. Some 30 people were feared missing. Only two others were rescued the day before. This man, one of the lucky ones. Rescue efforts continuing through their second night.
>> There's always hope. If there were no hope, the rescuers wouldn't give everything they've got.>> The disaster came hours after a series of tremors hit the region, including a 5.7 magnitude quake. The crush of snow initially hampered rescue efforts, up to 5 meters that's over sixteen feet, have fallen there in recent days.
Paths to the scene had to be cut through drifts. Some responders had to arrive by helicopter, the rescuers' base camp in a town some ten kilometers away. It took 11 hours for the first team to arrive. A court investigation now opening among accusations that response was too slow.
