>> Powerful storms speeding up the East Coast Monday. Emergency Management officials warning people in New York City to brace for winds of up to 70 miles per hour through Monday night, and several inches of rain. Residents in coastal Long Island and the New Jersey shore, gearing up for high winds and seas.
The storm is part of a weather system that caused deadly tornados in the South, at least 18 people were killed in Georgia and Mississippi over the weekend. Meteorologists say up to 2 inches of rain could fall by late Tuesday, drenching areas from Pittsburgh to Washington and New York to Boston.
