>> Following email trash talk by pageant officials, Variety Magazine says the Miss America Pageant will ask its former beauty queens for help choosing the organization's new leadership. Key leaders of the Miss America Organization, including CEO Sam Haskell, recently resigned after email surfaced that described former contestants in vulgar and derogatory language.
To replace two soon to be four vacancies on the board, interim chairman Dan Meyers said they, quote, wanted to have a process that was unprecedented in terms of openness, transparency and inclusion. The former Miss Americas and state directors that will participate, have not been publicly named, but some past winners have reportedly lashed out, saying they want the Board completely stripped and replaced with fresh faces.
The organization, which has already lost its television production partner over the scandal, hopes to have the nominations by January 3rd.
