>> Steve Bannon, the firebrand nationalist, and former advisor to President Trump, resigned Tuesday from the Brietbart News Network, as the fallout from his comments in an explosive new book continued to spread. His exit comes a week after president Donald Trump condemned his former top aide for critical remarks in the book, Fire and Fury.
The book quoted Bannon describing a meeting between Donald Trump Junior and a group of Russians during the campaign as treasonous. Bannon later retreated from those comments, saying Trump Junior was a patriot. Bannon joined Breitbart in 2012 and had returned to the conservative news site after he was ousted as Trump's Chief Strategist in August.
