>> The British Navy has revealed one of its frigates escorted a Russian warship near national waters on Christmas Day. The Defense Ministry released these images of the incident, and confirmed it shadowed the Russian vessel as it moved through the North Sea. UK Defense Minister, Gavin Williamson, said in a statement he would, quote, not hesitate in defending our waters or tolerate any form of aggression.
It comes after another ship escorted a Russian intelligence gathering boat through the North Sea and English channel on Christmas Eve. And a helicopter was monitoring two other Russian vessels. Relations between Russia and Britain is strained already. During a trip to Moscow last week UK foreign minister Boris Johnson accused the Russians during a tense press conference of meddling in foreign elections.
>> There was, alas I'm afraid, abundant evidence of.>> His Russian counterpart, Sergy Lavrov countered there was no proof to the claims. While Johnson says he wants to normalize relations, Moscow blames London for the poor state of affairs.
